Let the place speak.
Let the vineyard express itself, intervene as little as possible, and wait. Each variety and each place is aged apart, then brought together with the years in mind. Nothing leaves the cellar before it is ready.

Winemaker of Celler Laurona, and the voice behind Galilea by Fiona.
Swiss by birth, Fiona Fischer trained at the École hôtelière de Lausanne and spent her first years on the other side of the table, in Dubai and China, including more than three years with Fairmont and Jumeirah. There she learned what a guest feels when the right bottle arrives at the right moment.
In 2014 she came to La Figuera, a village of old vines high in the hills, and fell for it. That same year she began working beside René Barbier Senior, the founder of Celler Laurona. Her first wine was born there: Pythagora, the one she still calls her first baby.
For four years she worked in the vineyards and the cellar at René’s side. In 2018 he handed her the Laurona cellar and the care of his project: its vines and its blends. Today she makes the wines and leads the estate, and her signature is on every Laurona label.

Let the vineyard express itself, intervene as little as possible, and wait. Each variety and each place is aged apart, then brought together with the years in mind. Nothing leaves the cellar before it is ready.
Celler Laurona is the legacy: Mític, Cronos, Plini and Blanc de Laurona, wines of time. Galilea by Fiona is her own voice: Pythagora, Nautilea, L’Irrésistible and Super Nova.

Some wines wait years for the right moment.
